Seedance Pricing: Credits per Second

Oct 20, 2026Open Seedance Team

How Seedance pricing works in this studio: the $1 = 100 credits rule, per-second rates by model and resolution, pack prices and a way to estimate a batch.

One unit, then the math

Seedance pricing in this studio reduces to a single rule: $1 = 100 credits. Every model, resolution and edit tool is priced in credits per second of output, and those credit rates are the official per-second rates multiplied by 100. There is no subscription and no markup hidden in a conversion step.

That makes cost estimation simple:

credits per second × clip length in seconds = clip cost

A 5-second clip at 9 credits per second costs 45 credits, or about $0.45. A 20-second clip at the same rate costs 180 credits.

Published per-second rates

The table below comes from the live pricing page. Prices are USD per second; credits per second are shown in parentheses.

Model720p1080p1440p4K
Seedance 2.5 Fast$0.09 (9)$0.13 (13)$0.19 (19)$0.30 (30)
Seedance 2.5 Pro$0.12 (12)$0.17 (17)$0.25 (25)$0.39 (39)
Seedance 2.0 Fast$0.03 (3)$0.06 (6)$0.12 (12)$0.24 (24)
Seedance 2.0 Pro$0.04 (4)$0.08 (8)$0.16 (16)$0.32 (32)
Seedance 2.0 Pro audio-to-video$0.06 (6)$0.10 (10)$0.18 (18)$0.34 (34)

The gap between models is the practical story. At 720p, 2.0 Fast is 3 credits per second and 2.5 Pro is 12 — a fourfold difference for the same clip length. At 4K, the same comparison is 24 versus 39. Resolution raises the cost faster than model choice in some tiers, which is why drafting low and finishing selectively matters.

What a pack buys

Three one-time packs are available:

PackCreditsPriceApprox. 5s clips at 2.0 Fast 720p
Starter999$9.99about 66
Standard5,199$49.99about 346
Premium10,999$99.99about 733

Those clip counts use 15 credits per five-second 720p clip. A 5-second 2.5 Pro 1080p clip costs 85 credits, so the same Starter pack buys about 11 of those instead. The unit you plan in matters more than the headline pack size.

Credits do not expire, and a new pack is added to your existing balance.

Editing and post-processing rates

Generation is not the only cost. Seedance 2.0 Pro lists separate per-second rates for finishing:

  • Retake: $0.10 per second at 1080p.
  • Extend: $0.10 per second at 1080p.
  • HDR Upscale: $0.20 per second up to 1080p, $0.40 up to 1440p, $0.80 up to 4K.
  • Video Reframe: $0.10 per second at 720p, $0.20 at 1080p.

At 1080p, a 10-second Retake would add 100 credits, more than regenerating the same 10-second 2.0 Pro clip at 8 credits per second (80 credits). Retake pays off when it replaces a few seconds rather than the whole clip. Compare both costs before choosing.

How to estimate a batch

  1. Count shots, not ideas. Each generation is a separate cost.
  2. Pick a draft tier. Use 720p and the Fast variant for exploration.
  3. Estimate retries. A realistic first pass often needs two or three attempts per shot.
  4. Budget finishing separately. Retake, Extend and upscales are billed per second on top of generation.
  5. Convert to credits, then to dollars. Credits ÷ 100 = dollars at the base rate.

Example: 10 shots, three attempts each at 5 seconds, 2.0 Fast 720p:

10 shots × 3 attempts × 5 s × 3 credits = 450 credits

That fits comfortably inside the Starter pack, leaving room for one or two 2.5 passes on the hero shots.

What the price does not include

  • Your own time. Prompting and review are not billed, but they are the real constraint on a large batch.
  • Source assets. You need the rights to every image or audio file you upload.
  • Upstream model terms. The commercial license covers generated clips, but the model provider's terms still apply.

FAQ

Is Seedance a subscription?

No. This studio sells one-time credit packs. Credits do not expire, and there is no recurring charge.

Why do credits per second differ from the official price?

They do not differ in value. One credit equals one cent at the $1 = 100 credits rate, so a $0.09 per-second rate becomes 9 credits per second. Pack bonus credits are where the saving shows up.

Which model is cheapest?

At every published resolution, Seedance 2.0 Fast has the lowest per-second rate, followed by 2.0 Pro, 2.5 Fast and 2.5 Pro. Audio-to-video on 2.0 Pro sits between 2.0 Pro and 2.5 Fast at 720p and 1080p.

Do failed generations cost credits?

The studio shows the credit cost before a run. Check the current refund policy on the pricing page and in the terms before planning a large batch.

Conclusion

Seedance pricing is credits per second, with $1 = 100 credits and no subscription. Draft on the cheapest tier that answers the creative question, finish only the takes that earn it, and convert the total to dollars before buying a pack. The pricing page carries the live table; the model comparison explains which tier fits which shot.
